Products with purpose.
We fish, hunt and paddle. Every tether starts as a problem we had on the water: a net lost downstream, nippers dropped in a riffle, a staff tangled mid-crossing. It ends as a part built in the USA to fix it. Gear always ready.

On our own vests, on our home water.
Purpose-built
A retractor with a trout sticker isn't fly fishing gear.
A net, nippers and a wading staff all weigh different amounts, ride in different places and get used differently. One generic spring can't handle all three. So we don't make one. Each tether is made for the tool it holds.
On the water
Six places a generic retractor lets you down, and how ours holds up.

Retraction force
Gear Keeper: Matched to the tool. 2.5 oz for nippers, 9 oz for a staff, standard or high force for your net.
Generic: One spring for everything. Too weak for a net, too strong for nippers.
Reach
Gear Keeper: Full use of your net without restriction. Scoop, release, done.
Generic: Short cord. You unclip the net to land a fish.
Between runs
Gear Keeper: A locking mechanism keeps the net tight to your back through the brush.
Generic: The net swings loose and snags every branch on the trail.
Mounting
Gear Keeper: Threaded stud, snap clip, carabiner, belt clip or Velcro. Built for vests, packs and wading belts.
Generic: One clip, wherever it happens to fit.
Tool swaps
Gear Keeper: Disconnectable gear ends. Swap nippers for forceps in seconds.
Generic: Tied on for good. Changing tools means cutting line.

Out here, a drop is a donation to the river.
Nippers slip through cold fingers. A net floats off downstream while you unhook a fish. A staff tangles your boots mid-crossing. Rig each one where your hand already reaches.
Back: landing net
Standard force for nets 12 oz or under, high force up to 18 oz. Reach back, land the fish, let go, and it stores itself on your back.
Landing Net Retractor Standard Force $25.99Chest: nippers and forceps
The Super Zinger: 2.5 oz pull, 36" of reach and a 40 lb line. Small and light, yet strong enough to handle forceps.
Fishing, Micro Retractor "Super Zinger" Snap Clip Mount $14.99Hip: wading staff
Keeps the staff at your side and out from under your feet. A snap clip and a threaded stud come in the same package.

Beyond the net
The net isn't the only thing the river wants.
You reach for nippers, forceps and a wading staff a hundred times a day. Each one gets its own tether, its own force and its own mount.

Real people
Anglers who know the gear and can help you match the force.
Before you wade in.
Straight answers on force, mounting and setup.
Which net retractor force do I need?
Weigh your net. Up to 12 oz, choose Standard Force. Between 12 and 18 oz, choose High Force. Don't oversize: on a light net, too much force pulls the handle back before you're done.
Threaded stud, snap clip or carabiner?
A threaded stud mounts through vest or pack fabric exactly where you want it. A snap clip attaches to small D-rings and straps. A carabiner clips onto loops and moves easily between packs. The Velcro-mount net retractor cinches around D-rings, loops and belts.
Will a Super Zinger hold forceps as well as nippers?
Yes. Its 2.5 oz retraction force handles both. You get 36" of reach and a 40 lb break-strength line, and the disconnectable gear end lets you swap tools without retying.
How does the wading staff retractor mount?
The combo mount includes a snap clip and a threaded stud in the same package. Clip it to your wading belt or mount it through fabric. It keeps the staff at your side without tangling your feet.
What's different about the Aluminum Series?
It's the same force-matched design with a machined, anodized aluminum housing. It runs smoother and quieter and is lifetime rebuildable (see our warranty and rebuild policy). Every retractor we make does the job. The Aluminum Series is for anglers who want their gear to last a lifetime.
