Works VERY Well for Holding Camera and Flashlight While Diving. I'm a very hard grader and almost NEVER give any product 5 stars (5 being perfect, and what is?). But this gizmo comes close enough.I bought a couple of these to hold my GoPro and flashlight while scuba diving. They worked very well, exceeding expectations, in Cozumel during a week of diving.No real cons. The casing that holds the wound line and spring could be a little smaller, but maybe not. It never proved to be a problem at all.Pros:• I'd guess that the line case needs to be as large as it is in order to hold the line and spring mechanism (which is my way of saying it's really fine, considering the quality of the spring and line). It measures 4cm W x 5 cm H. Note this is just the boxy part where the line spools into; the rest of the unit is larger—see photo• The spring that winds the line is excellent—just strong enough to safely retract and hold what's clipped to it, but not so tight that it prevents easy extension.• Overall build quality is excellent• Quick release at line end is quite robust• Swivel clip at other end is also robust and large enough to easily clip/unclip to BCD D-rings (or a belt loop.• Reeled line extends to 21.5" — plenty long to hold a camera or flashlight at arm's length• Line is about 2mm thick and made of a synthetic material that is very strong• Line spool case is vented and apparently dries easily—it did not come back home with any funky "tropical mildew" smell, to my pleasant surprise (I can't say that about much of my other gear, which never fully dried out overnight)Highly recommended.
Works well for a good price. I bought this to replace a similar one I had for my Oceanic dive computer. The computer is quite a bit heavier than the small flashlights so I was not sure it would hold up the weight of it but was pleasantly surprised. I used it on a dive trip this week and it worked perfectly.
Excellent scuba accessory holder. This product is great for scuba diving equipment. They are durable and tolerate the saltwater great. Been diving with them for years

These work great to keep our diving flashlight close at hand! These are my preferred attachment method for my diving gadgets. I keep my flashlight on one of these as well as my noise maker for easy access and to not lose them in the ocean.
Nice clip. I bought this for a console. It it a bit harder to pull out than I would really like, but it should hold it firmly in place. So it is a tradeoff. I probably wouldn't put a light or camera on it because the force to putting it back might be a bit too much. I would reccomend it.

Good retracting strength. I’m very happy with this item. It has enough strength/power to fully retract my underwater flashlight. Delivery was as scheduled.

The retraction is too fast and hard. It’s seems very durable however, the cable is too short and the retraction thing… it’s so fast and powerful…I have to keep it extended with my both hands

Works great for holding Pinpointer. I purchased this to hold my Pinpointer while metal detecting. The pointer cost quite a bit and is a little heavy I wanted a retractable cable so I wouldn't loose it and was strong enough to hold it in place without the cable coming out because of the weight. This is perfect in that it holds the pointer firmly in place and as an added bonus I can disconnect the pointer from the retractor with a simple heavy duty plastic clip to change the battery when needed without having to remove the entire unit from my belt. This works perfectly and was exactly what I wanted.
A very useful device for divers! Can’t wait to use these on our SPG’s. Keeping your equipment tight prevents coral damage. Every little bit helps!
